The Sentinel's Retreat

A personal piece for a novel I'm writing in my free time. 

An ancient platform at the base of the enormous waterfalls found along the Forren river. The nearby tower, fallen from the ruins high above, rests precariously against the rock. Though the waters have yet to disturb it further, the Sentinels suspect it is only a matter a time before it eventually crumbles beneath the relentless deluge and is swept out to sea.

To Mokai senses, the area thrums with an unseen energy. Some Sentinels believe it is sacred and so come here in moments of quiet reflection.

The falls themselves are without name.
